Mount Juliet Estate Manor House, Thomastown (Kilkenny)

My stay at the hotel was a mixed bag. The room, hidden behind a tree, was spacious and clean with a mini balcony for a touch of nature, but the furniture was very uncomfortable. The service was a hit and miss - some staff members were lovely to talk to, but others could up their game a bit. The location, surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, was fantastic for a relaxing break, although some discomfort was experienced at times. The dining experience did not include breakfast, which was disappointing, but some dishes were a real treat. The facilities overall were decent, with some areas needing improvement.

I must say that the room didn't quite live up to what I expected when booking a Superior Room based on the website picture, but it was still beautiful and comfortable. The proximity to the lifts was convenient, and the room itself was spacious with 2 large double beds, which was a plus. However, there were some service issues that detracted from the overall experience, such as not having a bar menu and limited food options available. The location was fantastic, surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers in scenic Kilkenny, and close to the areas we wanted to visit. Despite some service challenges, the dining experience was positive with a great selection to suit all tastes, although the staff seemed undertrained. The facilities were adequate but could use some improvements. Overall, a mixed experience with some room for enhancement.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, I ended up in a room in the old servants quarters with no view, a dirty balcony, and noise from the kitchen. On the plus side, the location in Hunters Yard was very convenient for accessing the function room.

The dining experience had its ups and downs, with overpriced meals but convenient amenities like a sterilizer and microwave at The Hound dining room. However, the staff tried to make up for any issues we encountered, showing their dedication to guest satisfaction.

The staff, especially Laura, was extremely helpful and always willing to assist with any request. The location was stunning, perfect for walks around the estate, and the dining experience was of a very high standard. One downside was the initial room mix-up, but it was quickly resolved by the efficient team.
